Remembering. ( The Bird takes me out)

Well this rainy day has made me take a strole down memory lane. One story that everone loves to here me tell over and over again is how I broke my leg at Dixie Stampede. One off my favorite jobs was peforming at Dixie Stampede. In the show along with riding horses we rode Ostriches!!!! LOL YES THATS RIGHT! Well I had riden them many times before but this one time it just did not go so well. We had a 4 show day and some of my family was coming to the 2nd show so I had asked if I could ride the Ostrich for them. Well the deal was ride it for the family the second show then Kathy Lynn would take back over! Well needed less to say the family got a big kick out of it along with everyone else, a six foot tall guy riding a eight foot tall bird is something to see TRUST ME! Anyway It didnt get changed back on the show board that Kathy was to ride in ther ostrich race. So we didnt want to go against the rules so I just rode the big bird again. WELL this time not so pretty. As I was going to dismount the bird my leg got pulled between the birds and yes it is still running at this point LOL, Snap crunch and a tingle is all I can hear and feel! Leg's and Feathers ALL OVER THE PLACE! I look and the whole cast is pushing the props off to clear the arnea and I look like I NEED A LITTLE HELP HERE! LOL! LeAnn and Casey helped me out of the arean and needless to say the next thing to happen was a Ambulance ride to good ol Fort Sanders Sevier. Well I did not get to change so just picture this strolling in the ER! A six foot two inch guy in a skin tight royal blue outfit with a gold trim and a Ostrich feather sticking out the back of my hat! Oh did I ever get some looks! After everyone stopped laughing I got the news I that I knew I was going to get I had broken my leg! When I went back to work a co-worker had a painted a scen of the big race LOL!

This is a Pic of the Painting!

One of my Favorite pics from Dixie. YES THATS DOLLY TOO!!!!!!!!
